Unique 1930’s Figural Caiman (Alligator) Doorstop

Fantastic and rare figural caiman doorstop. Made as a prototype by an employee at the Littletown Foundry in Littletown, PA. Purchased from the family. Cast from an original taxidermy piece. “PATENT PEND.” on base. Heavy cast aluminum. Awesome detailing on this well made piece. Weighs just over 3lbs. If you collect doorstops, you will never see another.

Caimans inhabit Central and South America. They are relatively small crocodilians, and are a type of miniature alligator.
