Heavy duty blacksmith made wrought iron latch. Fashioned from four separate pieces. Fully functional. Hand cut threads and nut. The ring slides up or down to secure the latch. A really nice primitive country example of early metal work.
Date: Early 19th century.
Size: Â 16 1/2″ long when fully extended. Â 8″ long when folded.
Condition: Overall excellent. Nut is stuck at the end.
