A rare and unusual Victorian secret stash box for valuables. Disguised as an octagonal finial for a bed or some other piece of furniture. Mahogany and oak with inlaid ebony and satinwood compass rose. Original green velvet lined interior. Excellent old untouched surface. Not too many of these around.

Date: 1860-1880.
