Sweet folk art carved mother of pearl snuff box lid. Never attached. Scene depicts a kneeling or praying man in colonial attire beneath a tree. A dog is emerging from his house, with a second dog’s head behind it. In the background are fields and a farmhouse. A nice decorative border completes the design. Handwritten info on back is difficult to decipher. A lovely little object carved from a single piece of shell.
Date: Late 18th century.
Size: 3 1/4″  x  1 3/4″.
Condition: Overall excellent with minor roughness to top corners.
