Superior late 18th century fireside trivet. Pierced brass top flanked by a pair of urn finials. Brass Chippendale style cabriole legs. Wrought iron T-stretcher. Boldly turned walnut handle. The hooks at the end were used to secure the trivet to a fire bar in the hearth. Amazingly well constructed, and as solid as the day it was made over two centuries ago. A primo example.

Date: 1780-1800.
