Detailed Signed Brass Skull

Awesome brass two piece skull. Signed on the jaw, “M & M LTD.” The detail on this piece indicates that it was likely cast from an actual skull. The skull is heavy hollow cast, while the jaw is a solid casting. There is a loose piece of brass slag inside the skull. Total weight is about 3.5lbs. Possibly used as a display piece in a doctor’s office or an apothecary shop. A great macabre and eye catching object from the late Victorian period. Recently freed from my personal collection – You can’t keep everything!
Date: 1890 – 1910
