Early hand wrought waffle iron. At the end of the handle a rat tail loop secures a figure-eight latch for use and hanging. Huge spear point hinges connect the handles to the molds, which are impressed with rosettes. Excellent old untouched surface on this great 18th century country kitchen utensil.
Date: Second half of the 18th century.
Size: 24″ long. 6 1/2″ wide.
Condition: Age appropriate wear. Small bit of play at rivet, but tight all around when latched.
