Hand Painted Folk Art PIPE Sign

Great hand painted folk art advertising sign. Dovetailed ends where the board connected to two other sections. This is the center section of a larger sign that would have read “STOVE PIPE HATS.” On the back is a partial, “STOVE,” as this was clearly a double sided sign. Nice early style lettering. Awesome untouched alligatored surface. Main board appears to be poplar. At some point in the sign’s history holes were drilled through, possibly to secure it to a mount. Some loss to wood at base and right end. Discovered in Oxford, Maine. A cool primitive country store sign.
