Unusual pair of matching architectural ceiling tins. From a defunct GAR lodge building in Carthage, MO. Union shields. The original surfaces are the painted sides, though they display so much better looking at the backs. A really cool set.
Sold as a pair.
GAR – The Grand Army of the Republic was a fraternal organization formed in 1866 by members of the Union Army at the end of the Civil War .
Date: 1870-90.
