Cool relief carved pine folk art baseball game scene. Faint signature on back in red. An interesting composition that focuses on the action in the crowd rather than that of the game. The batter follows through on a mighty swing, while the umpire and catcher are in position. Adult fans sit and stand, mostly attentive to the game. The exceptions being a pickpocket at the far left, and two boys playing, happily oblivious to all. Fantastic untouched original dry surface.
This folk art gem was discovered in the bottom of an old trunk at a house sale in Zelienople, PA.
