Folk Art Battleship MAINE

H181

Great looking labor intensive folk art rendition of the famous Spanish-American Warship, “MAINE,” which was sunk in Manila Harbor in 1898. Fantastic detailed boat made with pine, bamboo, metal, cloth flags and string. Enamel metal shield at the prow. Ship is attached to it’s stand. Outstanding untouched surface. Likely made in Cuba as a souvenir for or by an American soldier. A cool piece, oozing with character.
