Fantastic folk art painted lidded storage container/ bucket.  Appears to be maple with a pine base. Square nails at base. The best original painted dry red surface over white plaster? “No.6.” painted on front in gold and black. Gold painted bands. Traces of old paper label on inside of lid. Killer color with serious eye appeal on this unique primitive country gem.

Date: Mid-19th century.
