Fantastic political wooden figural folk art sign in the shape of a key. Sweet original untouched painted  surface on pine. The bit of the key is cleverly shaped like Oklahoma. Cool Art Deco stylized lettering.

William Shaffer Key ran as the 1938 Democratic candidate for governor of Oklahoma .

This is an amazing historical survivor recently discovered in a barn in NW Arkansas. A brief biography on Mr. Key is included with the sign.

Condition: Slight warping to board. Expected weathering and paint loss – see photos. Minor old paint spot on top left. Old missing knot hole. Mounting holes in center.
