Awesome folk art hand made stoneware shoe. Might have been made as a match holder (matches sticking out of holes, striker in back), a hat pin holder, a paperweight, or simply as a whimsy. Great hand incised details. Bennington type brown glaze. Good weight – 1.5lbs. A fun stoneware oddity, discovered in Missouri.
Date: Late 19th century.
Size: 7″ x 2″ x 5 1/2″ tall.
Condition: Overall very good. Expected aging and use wear with a few unimportant rim and base flakes. No cracks or repairs. Please use photos and description to determine condition.
