18th Century Brass Pocket Knife

Outstanding mid-18th century pocket knife. Brass grips with stamped and incised designs. Horn spacers with iron pins. Extra decorative work on top of steel blade. Made to resemble a fish when open. Likely Mediterranean manufacture. Excellent example with nice surface patina.

 

Date: 1740-1760.

 

Size: 4 1/2″ closed. 8 1/4″ open.

 

Condition: Overall great with expected aging and wear. Blade is relatively tight. Some loss to horn and rust to blade. This object was in use for many years. Please use photos and description to determine condition.
